In February of this year, a new and interesting restaurant was opened in Yokosuka.  It is conveniently located only a short (approx. 10 minutes) drive south of the U.S. Navy Base (CFAY) along the main road (Highway 16).  The name of the restaurant is "Pisola", and Italian-style food is served there.  Of note, a signature dish of Pisola is the rice-based Risotto -- over 30 flavors/varieties are offered.  The concept for Pisola is to be a family-friendly operation offering "authentic Italian food in a resort atmosphere".  The restaurant's interior, reminiscent of a tropical hotel or beach club, faithfully recreates a resort atmosphere using materials and interior furnishings sourced directly from Bali, Indonesia.  Lunch is served from 11:00~16:00 and dinner is served from 16:00~23:00.  Upon entering the Yokosuka branch restaurant of Pisola, one of the first things which stands out is the large glass-enclosed kitchen and food preparation area -- very clean looking and equipped with a pizza oven & very busy cooks.  The seating consists of enclosed sofa/booths, and smaller curtained booths are also offered for a more private dining experience.  English-language menus are available (see link below), and include both ala-carte, as well as an "all you can eat & drink" course option.  As with most Japanese family restaurants a juice/coffee/tea/soda "drink bar" (with refills) is available, as well as a limited kid's menu.  Yokosuka's Pisola is at a roadside location and has free parking for up to 32 vehicles.  It has become very popular and gets crowded during lunch and dinner hours.  It is possible to make reservations by calling 046-845-4425 -- or, if you can read Japanese, reservations can be arranged via the restaurant's website.  We hope you will have the chance to go out and enjoy this unique and delicious restaurant while living in Japan.  By the way, a few other eatery reviews by our company are provided for your information at the bottom.
