A house, which for many years had been used as a rental for U.S. military-related customers, has been newly built and reborn.
The building area of this reconstructed house is approximately 45 tsubo (1600 square feet), which is compact for a such a rental residence, but it is a user-friendly 4LDK (4 bedrooms & living-dining-kitchen room).
The first floor has a path that allows you to go around the entrance, and to access the bathroom, kitchen, and living/dining room areas. The second floor has four bedrooms and two toilets. The parking lot, which was previously only for one car, can now accommodate two cars in a row, making parking easier than before. It looks like you can also park your bicycle in the freed-up space.
The exterior wall design was chosen by the owner. The base color is a gentle shade, and the corners are clad with a different design to create a sense of liveliness. The colors of the front door and mailbox also match the overall atmosphere very well.
When you enter the room from the entrance, there is a horizontal window in the hall. The handrail of the stairs is a colony style on the front side to reduce the feeling of oppression, and the hall feels bright and spacious. Considering the need to bring in large furniture, we have devised a way to ensure as much space as possible.
The fixtures are based on a warm light brown color, and the hard maple flooring makes the interior brighter and more open.
There is plenty of storage space not only in the living room but also in the hallway area for the convenience of those who have a lot of luggage. The storage space in front of the entrance is divided into two halves, with a hanger rail for hanging coats on the right side only and an area for storing tall items on the left side. There is also a shelf for storing small items.
The kitchen has the impression of being clean and wide-open. Although it is not shown in the photograph, there is also a cooking area in the back. With such a spacious kitchen, cooking seems even more fun. It also comes with a dishwasher and a gas oven.
All the rooms on the second floor have windows on two sides, making it easy to let in light and allowing for good ventilation. Each room has an accent wall, and we changed the color of the curtains to match the wallpaper. The curtains are made of light-blocking drapes and lace and are generally simple and without patterns so that they match the furniture brought in by the tenants.
After completion of reconstruction, the house passed an inspection by the U.S. Military Housing Department, and a rental contract was signed soon afterwards.
We were happy to be able to find a client at the same time as the completion of the project, and to smoothly conclude the contract.
