Yokosuka's Baseball Team

Yokosuka Stadium, located in Oppama District, is the home field for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars minor league professional baseball team (Eastern League).  Games are played from March through September.  The stadium offers a close-up, affordable experience to watch professional players, developing talent and occasionally major league rehab players.  Tickets are generally affordable, often ranging from around 1,200 yen for adults to 500 yen for children.  The ballpark features a full-color LED scoreboard, video display, and is known for its intimate, community feel.  Located near the stadium and adjacent Oppama park is the "Dock of Baystars Yokosuka", which is a new & state-of-the-art baseball practice facility.  It is modeled after the ballpark concept of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars to promote team communication through baseball.  In addition to their outdoor practice fields, the players' dormitories and indoor practice fields are all integrated into one place, where they spend their day-to-day activities.  Daily practices become part of the scenery in Oppama Park and the outdoor practice field.  Dock of Baystars, which includes public facilities for Yokosuka City, was designed to provide a place where the local professional baseball team and the city's people can grow together.  In the athletes' dormitory, the players can concentrate and rest in a relaxed environment.  It was designed so that the field could be seen every day from the training room.  Also, there is a bright indoor practice range made from polycarbonate & perforated folded plates.  Lights used for practicing inside illuminate the roof at night, making it a landmark along nearby Tokyo Bay.  We hope you will get a chance to go to Oppama Stadium and enjoy watching minor league baseball.
