A Fun Summer Visit to the Elephant Kingdom It is in Chiba .
Just about 20 minutes by car from the Kisarazu area via the expressway, Zō no Kuni (The Elephant Kingdom) is super easy to access—it’s located right off the Ichihara-Tsurumai Interchange
Don’t forget your heat protection gear in summer!
The weather was beautiful but the sun was intense, so heatstroke prevention was a must. Be sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, drinks, and a cooling neck ring (ice ring).
If you're visiting with kids, make sure you’re well-prepared!
Warm Elephant Welcome Right at the Entrance
As soon as we entered, elephants were there to greet us!
We arrived around 10:30 AM, just in time for the elephant performance that starts at 11:00.
Mesmerizing Water Play and Painting Performance
Maybe because of the heat, the elephants were enjoying playing in the water—which was already heartwarming to watch.
Then came the famous elephant painting performance, where one of the elephants used its trunk to hold a brush and painted a sunflower.
The audience erupted into applause, especially when the elephant painted not just in solid colors but with an impressive gradient effect!
The Highlight: Elephant Penalty Shootout!
The most exciting part was the PK (penalty kick) match!
An elephant skillfully picked up the ball with its trunk, bounced it a few times, then kicked it toward the goal—sometimes after a bounce, sometimes straight off the ground.
Its power was incredible, and both kids and adults were cheering with excitement
This performance is definitely a must-see—don’t miss it!
